l must clear fruit flies in a vile for my lab, how short of a time period will there actually be fruit flies in the vile?

When clearing fruit flies how short of a time period can you start to look at them

It depends on what you mean by clearing. If you allow the flys to mate and lay eggs, flies will can start showing up in a few days, but if you are already getting new flies they will continue to show up every min.
